“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” – MLK
1. Congress has 5 days to pass the Dream Act. Funding for the government runs out on January 19. With Republicans in control of Congress and the White House, it’s on them to put a bill on the floor that can become law. It’s also on them to clean up the mess this administration made when they eliminated the DACA program back in September. The best way to reject this administration’s racism is to protect the people who they want to deport. It’s up to our Sen. Schumer, as Senate Minority Leader, and the Senate Democrats to make sure that Republicans do right by Dreamers. So keep the pressure on by calling Sen. Schumer.
2. We missed the vote against our civil rights (4th amendment) last week in the house with surveillance reauthorization. John Faso voted FOR it. Make sure Sen. Schumer has a backbone on defending citizens against warrantless surveillance in the Senate. The vote is this week, so call TODAY!
