We are now in week two of the congressional recess week… where’s Faso?
No surprise, he is fundraising out of district. Thanks to the great protesters at Faso’s fundraiser questioning “Who do you actually represent?” There is no question that our collective activism is having an effect, check out PA Representative Costello’s comments, the latest Republican to announce he won’t run in 2018.
Top Indivisible Actions:
Thousands of new voters were registered at March for Our Lives marches across the country. This week we will support the students with their call for common sense gun legislation with calls to Faso to protect students over guns and by reaching out to young voters to register (see how here), and to vote in 2018 (see Postcards to Young Voters).
#TrumpThreatLevel continues to rise as Trump has moved to add a trio of war hawks and criminals to his circle of advisors. We don’t have a way to stop John Bolton from becoming Trump’s new National Security Advisor, but we CAN call on Schumer and Gillibrand to stop Gina Haspel from becoming CIA Director and Mike Pompeo from becoming Secretary of State.
With Tax Day approaching on April 17, we will ensure Faso knows we have not forgotten that he used his influential seat on the Budget Committee to vote the tax reform bill to the floor despite it being terrible for NY19 voters and all of NYS. Make plans to join us at the Tax March in Albany on April 15th.
FlipNY19:
Our work of talking to neighbors, knocking on doors, registering voters and making phone calls to flip NY19 continues. There are still those that are not aware that John Faso’s votes are bad for NY19 voters. What’s next… the petition process is winding down to get NY19 Candidates on the ballot. Hand in your petition sheets, we need your help to identify the voters that will #FlipNY19 – if you haven’t already contact ny19votes or your local action group. Voter to voter conversations are the most powerful to get out the vote in November.
There are many ways to participate, each action helps tip the scales. Consider writing a letter to the editor.
