This Week’s Actions – April 9th

This past week, spearheaded by the youth-led Town Hall Project,  there was surge of Town Halls for Our Lives across the country.  For over a year now, our local Faso Fridays have served as weekly “town halls on the sidewalk” where citizens come to voice their concerns in a public space. This past Friday’s got great coverage by FiOs1 News.  It’s a shame our Congressman Faso fails to demonstrate any leadership on the issues we care most about.

This week’s top national priorities:

• Stop Trump’s war Cabinet. Mike Pompeo’s confirmation hearing for Secretary of State will likely happen on April 12. Call your Senators this week and tell them that they must say no to Pompeo!

• Tax Day is coming — and so is November. Find Tax March events in your area and if you don’t have an event in your area, you still have time to plan your own event with our Tax Day accountability guide.
  

• Don’t forget: endorsement nominations are due April 9! The next round of endorsements closes on Tuesday! Make sure to submit your endorsements here to be considered in this next round. Voting will happen at the end of April, with announcements the first week of May!

Local Actions:

• Challenged by a stubborn Spring, we can all March with Our Pens. Help activate youth voters with NY19Votes’ Postcards campaign.

• Help build a blue wave that will be build into a tsunami by helping Aidan O’Connor flip State Assembly District 102 in April 24th’s special election.
