Water Is Life is a benefit for Standing Rock and Split Rock / indigenous water protectors and their allies. Join us on March 30th from 5:45 – 8 PM at the Rondout Valley High School auditorium for an evening consisting of an opening ceremony and prayer (optional) with the Deer Clan Chief of the Ramapough Lenape Nation, beautiful performances by Red Feather Singers and Cloud Beaker Drummers, and several speakers, including activists and natives. There will also be interactive displays/information booths run by local conservation groups, businesses, organizations, and clubs related to the cause. Native jewelry, created by local native Eva Sickler, and a painting by RVCSD students Eva Ostrander (15), Shyann Sickler (11), Savanna del Monte (11), and Cheyenne del Monte (10), will be for sale with all proceeds donated to the cause. Price of admission is a suggested donation of $5.00. All funds raised this evening will directly benefit the fight to protect our water, as well as the natives, veterans, and so many others who have worked so hard for the cause. Come learn about water protection, alternative energy, and perspectives of natives and other community members. We hope to see you there!
