Rep John Faso (R-NY19) will be visiting Hudson River Healthcare Community Health Center (HRHC) in the town of Amenia for a photo op while actively disenfranchising the very people who rely on it for care.  The facility relies heavily on funding from Medicaid and Medicare and offers a “Healthcare for Farm Workers” program to meet the needs of migrant workers from the region’s many farms. Additionally, an onsite community garden supports low-income families that face food insecurity.

We want to voice our disappointment in his vote to pass the AHCA on to the Senate while we respect the hardworking employees of HRHC as well as the businesses and residents of the town of Amenia.  For this reason, we are asking that all attendees of the protest park in public lots, so as not to impinge the flow of traffic in and out of small businesses, the library and the post office.  Additionally, we ask that demonstrators stay off of the HRHC property, as they have not asked us to stage this demonstration and we do not want to create any back lash on the organization.  Our gathering will take place across the street, in front of the walls of the Amenia Island Cemetery.
