The Statue of Liberty says a lot about immigrants. “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore, Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me” says the statue’s poem by Emma Lazarus.

To honor the nation’s tradition of accepting immigrants and refugees, writers will read their work and share their experiences as immigrants/refugees. The program will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Pivot Ground, 63 Broadway, Kingston, NY.

The reading is free. Donations will be accepted for the ACLU.
