Unitarian Universalist Society, 12 Ford Ave, Oneonta, NY 13820

This workshop is an opportunity for activists to learn some Internet safety strategies. We’ll start with a short discussion of why protecting your data and your accounts absolutely matters, although you have “nothing to hide.” Then we’ll have three very short “round robin” sessions to introduce three important areas of cyber security that you can control: 1) Social media settings; 2) Protecting your home computer; and 3) Apps and plug-ins.

We plan for participants to receive a handout from each presenter so they will be able to utilize the tools they learn about. As this is really an introduction to tools, participants should not bring laptops with them.
