RISE UP FOR ECONOMIC JUSTICE – FIGHT THE TAX SCAM
In the middle of the night, the Senate passed the awful Republican tax scam on the poor and middle class by a 51-49 vote.1 They didn’t even give senators enough time to read the 479-page bill before voting.
In order to give a massive tax break to the 1% and multi-billion-dollar corporations, Republicans chose to hurt working families. Teachers. Seniors. The sick. It’s disgraceful.
The fight is not over. In anticipation of a conference, we are turning our attention back to the House, where we need to flip 11 votes from yes to no to defeat the bill.
Join us on Monday night at 6:00PM to protest this vile Tax Scam.
It is expected that the House and Senate will go to conference to work out their differences. These include things like individual tax rates, how much taxes are cut on pass-through businesses, whether the estate tax is repealed, and whether to repeal the ACA’s individual mandate.
