The Gardiner Democratic Committee will host Zephyr Teachout. Zephyr was a candidate for Congress in our Congressional district and was defeated by Republican John Faso with much help from outside interests and money. Bernie Sanders endorsed her and spoke on her behalf at a large outdoor rally in New Paltz. She is a Law Professor at Fordham University and the author of a book on corruption in politics, “Corruption in America,” which specifically cites the corrosive influence of Citizen’s United on our civic life. She is a passionate and engaging speaker who will help us deal with the political atmosphere we now face in constructive ways.
